Aug. 14--Even in a steady rain that delayed the state's biggest racing event of the year, Jed Copham smiled about the future of racing in Minnesota. Copham, who with his wife Kristi two weeks ago bought Brainerd International Raceway and Resort, plans to expand racing and improve restrooms and other amenities at the 800-acre complex. "I like all types of racing," said Copham, a former amateur racer from Forest Lake, Minn. "I've heard that the AMA (American Motorcycle Association) is anxious to come back and go-karts would be another type of racing I'd like to get back." Copham began racing motocross at age 13.
