Aug. 14--The banking system's credit-card usage declined, but the number of cards and credit outstanding continued to increase in the second quarter from the first quarter, according to the Bank of Thailand.
Total credit-card spending stood at 58.94 billion baht in the second quarter, compared with 63.18 billion in the first quarter of the year. The number of credit cards rose slightly to 10.48 million from 10.16 million. Outstanding credit on cards totalled 153.8 billion baht, compared with 143.56 billion during the previous period.
