Aug. 15--A fourth man believed to be involved in the March robbery of an Owensboro jewelry store and the shooting death of its owner is in custody in Nashville after leading police on a brief car chase.
Douglas Isaias Herrero, 26, will appear in criminal circuit court in Nashville this morning and could be extradited to Kentucky, where he faces a murder charge in the death of 57-year-old Samuel Garrett, owner of The Jewelry Chest on Park Plaza Drive. "He's going to come back (to Owensboro)," said Capt. Jeff Speed, head of criminal investigations for the Owensboro Police Department. "We're fortunate he was picked up." ...
