Aug. 16--Kelvin Sampson broke the rules and Tuesday was taken to the woodshed by his peers. The National Association of Basketball Coaches reprimanded the Indiana coach for sins committed as the Oklahoma foreman. Sampson's penalty is the basketball equivalent of, "Oh, sweetie, please don't do that again": + Ineligible for NABC committees, which means no insufferable meetings; + Ineligible for NABC coaching awards, which means no rearranging a desk drawer to find room for another worthless plaque; + No Final Four tickets in 2007, which means Sampson won't be tempted to scalp and risk a night in the Atlanta hoosegow.
