A TOILET block closed as part of council cost cutting has reopened following a protest campaign.
Solihull Council chiefs sparked furious objections by deciding to close facilities in Solihull's Mell Square, and at Shirley, Chelmsley Wood, Knowle and Dorridge to save pounds 210,000 following a pounds 7 million Government funding shortfall.
Shoppers were told they must use loos in shops, pubs and cafes instead.
But Independent councillor Jim Ryan collected more than 1,400 signatures as part of a petition calling on the council to rethink its decision.
