Music education is definitely not a sexy sell in the philanthropic world, where more immediate causes grab headlines and dollars. But VH1 Save the Music and the Grammy Foundation's Grammy in the Schools have managed to raise a total of more than $6 million for music education each year, mining a niche need with success.
Both nonprofits work hard to remain visible year-round--and to demonstrate vital worth. They're also planting the seeds of the next Grammy winners and pop stars now.
