PRAGUE. AUGUST 16. INTERFAX CENTRAL EUROPE - POWER: CEZ Posts Record Net Profit in H1 - Czech power producer CEZ's share price slipped by 1.8% yesterday, to CZK 800, after the energy giant posted strong - but lower-than-expected - results for the first half of 2006.
CEZ posted record net profit of CZK 16.4 bln, for a year on year (y/y) increase of about 40%. Analysts are now expecting net profit for the full year of CZK 28 bln, which could mean dividends to the state of CZK 10 bln.
