The collapse of the telecommunications industry that accompanied the last recession and the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks left two small Twin Cities telecom equipment manufacturers struggling for survival in an arena dominated by corporate giants.
Between 2000 and 2003, the combined revenue of Americable Inc. and CSP Inc. tumbled from $50 million to $11 million, burying them under the weight of excess inventory and production capacity.
