Aug. 16--VIRGINIA BEACH -- It's just a piece of calfskin. But at 791 years old, it's arguably the most important piece of vellum that governance has ever known. And it's coming to the Beach. Pending a formal vote by the City Council, the Contemporary Art Center of Virginia announced Tuesday that one of only four original copies of the Magna Carta will be displayed at the center for 81 days next year as part of Virginia Beach 2007, a series of events meant to commemorate the English settlers who made landfall at Cape Henry in 1607.
