The new braided fishing lines are a threat, a blessing and a challenge--a threat because they will outperform traditional monofilament, a blessing because they catch more fish, and a challenge because they take getting used to.

They are the second major revolution in fishing lines. The first took place about 1940, when nylon monofilament replaced braided silk and linen lines, which had to be dried after each fishing trip or they would rot. Braids are back with a vengeance!
