SAN FRANCISCO -- Tax-exempt bond financing will play a key role in an exhibit of the Dead Sea Scrolls next year in San Diego.
The operator of the San Diego Natural History Museum borrowed $1.3 million to finance improvements to climate control systems deemed necessary to safely house the ancient, delicate documents. The six-month-long exhibit, which opens in June 2007, is expected to triple visitor traffic at the museum, said George Brooks-Gonyer, chief operating officer of the San Diego Society of Natural History.
