This is a book that was undoubtedly written with the best of intentions in trying to narrow the definitions of "holocausts" and "genocide" in order to establish a comparative framework. Unfortunately, the results are confusing at best, except for some interesting and well-written sections about destruction of native peoples. The most confusing issue that dominates the text is an approach that questions the difference between "holocausts" (small "h") and genocides. The issue is not resolved, and perhaps is not ...
