Aug. 17--Kitty Van Buskirk, 80, said she wouldn't be caught dead in a pair of flip flops."I'm too old," the New Bern resident said. "I slide right out of them."But she remembers when she used to wear flip flops 50 years ago as she walked along the beaches of Hawaii.
