Aug. 18--Three years of tax returns for Richard Williams, father of tennis greats Venus and Serena, will remain in a public court file, though his Social Security number and other sensitive information will be removed, a judge ruled Thursday.
Williams' attorney, Jan Michael Morris, sought to seal Williams' 1998, 1999 and 2000 tax returns, which were placed in his divorce file.
Williams apparently learned the documents were there when lawyers representing a company suing him and his daughters in a contract dispute referenced them in that case. Morris argued that leaving the records in the file violates Williams' right to ...
