Army/navy stores are really workin' it these days--selling clothing and footwear for the working man--and woman.
While selling work and uniform wear has always been an army/navy strong suit, it's not an easy game anymore. In recent years, a growing number of specialty retailers, including 12-state chains such as WorkNGear stores have stolen some of the spotlight.
This is in addition to the mass merchants such as J.C. Penney's, Sears, Wal-Mart and K-mart, ad nauseum, which have been players in work apparel for decades, selling most of the same brand names (such as Dickies and Carhartt) sold by army/navy retailers.
