MINUTES after being nominated for a prestigious hip-hop Mobo award this week, Kingslee Daley, aka Akala, called his big sister, Niomi, famously known as Ms Dynamite, to break the news. He coolly told her, almost as an aside: "Oh, by the way, Ni, I've been nominated for best hip-hop."
The 22-year-old rapper from Archway, north London, had witnessed his sister - who had been calling him incessantly for the previous two hours - shoot to fame and millionaire status four years ago, herself winning a brace of music awards.
