Paul Konerko verbalized what the rest of the White Sox had to be thinking following Thursday afternoon's 5-4 win over the Kansas City Royals at U.S. Cellular Field.
"Kansas City gave us everything we wanted in this series," Konerko said. "We actually feel maybe lucky we split with them. That's the way it was going out there."
On Monday, the Sox came out and drubbed the Royals 12-2, and it looked like a four-game sweep of the AL Central's perennial cellar- dwellers was well within reach.
But Kansas City bounced back with a 4-2 win on Tuesday and followed with a lopsided 10-4 decision Wednesday.
