HAVELI BEGHAL, Pakistan _ Rashid Rauf may have been born here, but he is a stranger.
The suspected plotter in the alleged plan to blow up U.S.-bound airplanes over the Atlantic lived most of his life in Britain, then returned to his native country in 2002 after his uncle was killed and suspicion fell on him, according to Pakistani officials.
But here in his native Kashmiri village, almost no one has met Rauf, 29, who is suspected of being the link between the suspects in England and al-Qaida higher-ups in this region and also of having family ties to area militant groups.
