This delightfully infectious documentary examines Turkey's astonishingly diverse music scene. In addition to traditional Kurdish dirges and soulful Romany instrumentals, the musicians in this country are fluent in other types of genres such as rap, hip-hop and even punk rock. Director Akin uses German bassist Alexander Hacke as a guide of sorts for Crossing the Bridge . As well as being a picturesque character in his own right, Hacke comes off as genuinely interested in the documentary's subject matter.
