Aug. 22--Evergreen Homes, which came under state scrutiny in late June over securities sales by its affiliatedcompany, has been sued over unpaid debts owed to a lumber company. Carter Lumber Co. in Kent claims Evergreen is in default of a $1.45 million mortgage secured by 10 vacant parcels of land in Barberton and Akron. Carter attorney Thomas Haskins said that earlier this year, Evergreen owner David Willan got behind on payments for materials used in building homes. "They agreed to give us security," Haskins said.
