Aug. 22--Despite a much-celebrated move to Murfreesboro as the host site, the TSSAA lost more than $13,000 on this year's Spring Fling.

The figures were released during Monday's TSSAA Board of Control meeting. "It's really not that much of a surprise that we lost money this year," TSSAA executive director Ronnie Carter said later. "We were going into it for the first year at a new site, and you never know what the gate receipts will be. Our goal was to break even in the first year, but we knew we had some items we won't have next year.
