THERE WAS NO BREAKFAST IN BED or traditional round of golf. For Jason Kendall, Father's Day last June 18, was picking up a phone and calling his dad at the team hotel, or at least that's what he remembers most.
He's not complaining, just stating facts. He would never complain because, like his A's teammates Bobby Crosby, Nick Swisher and Huston Street, he believes he wouldn't be playing in the major leagues today if not for his father.
"I grew up in the game," Kendall said. "That's all I ever knew."
