A ceremony was held at Jiangsu Yangtze River International Chemical Industrial Park, Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu province on July 26th, 2006, for the opening of Taiko Palm-oleo (Zhangjiagang) Co., Ltd.(TPO), a joint venture of Kuala Lumpur Kepong Bhd (KLK, 90%) and Taiko Marketing Sdn Bhd (Taiko, 10%). The new plant could produce high quality fatty acids, glycerin and soap noodles, with a capacity of 150 000 t/a and further expansion to 650 000 t/a by the end of 2006. The produced products can be applied in broad ranges such as food, personal care, cosmetics as well as rubber, fiber, pharmaceutical and emulsion.
