Aug. 24--The Dallas City Council has directed staff to investigate ways to close downtown's cash-hemorrhaging Reunion Arena, with members saying they expect to be briefed on the issue later this year. Their unanimous decision came Wednesday as a caveat to approving a telecommunications contract -- a 36-month, $150,000 deal with Virginia-based XO One Inc. to administer the arena's 100 phone lines and provide other operational services.
