Aug. 24--There's the Electric Slide, the Cha-Cha Slide and ... the Quarterback Slide? It's not quite as popular as its counterparts. You don't see it on dance floors. But it's still a tango, danced on TV screens and football fields nationwide. Here's how it goes:
A quarterback bounds down the field. Maybe on a called run. Maybe on a broken play. Either way, he has the ball, and he's gaining yards.
Then something -- a safety seen out of the corner of his eye, a voice in his head -- tells the quarterback to get down. So he slides. The slide's drawbacks? Too many can earn a quarterback a "soft" label. A ...
