Aug. 26--Orlando's Ric Keller, the three-term Republican who represents the 8th Congressional District, would seem an unlikely candidate to face opposition in a GOP primary. He's been a pretty effective advocate for his district and his party.
Yet Mr. Keller is opposed for renomination by Elizabeth Doran, a Winter Springs marketing consultant. Ms. Doran's positions on most issues don't differ significantly from Mr. Keller's. But her scathing portrayal of him as ineffective and unresponsive to his constituents is an unrecognizable caricature.
Ineffective? Mr. Keller has helped increase funding for federal college grants, and protect it for college loans. ...
