Aug. 27--Start with a lump of clay. Shape it into the finished piece you want, let it air dry and then pop it into the kiln.If you were working with precious metal clay, what you would end up with is not your traditional ceramic cup or bowl. You have instead a piece of pure-silver art.The clay, containing microscopic particles of pure silver, was introduced as an art medium to the United States from Japan in 1990.
