A NORTH Wales council last night hit out after being snubbed for a major grant it was originally due.
The Welsh Assembly's RAISE grant targets disadvantaged pupils across Wales and aims to help them improve in lessons.
But one of the lowest-performing schools in Wales, Rhyl High School, was surprised to find it was not getting a penny of the grant.
Shocked education officials launched a Freedom of Information request with the Welsh Assembly to find out why Rhyl High had been snubbed.
And council chiefs found out the high school had been recommended to gain at least pounds 125,000 of the grant but ...
