Aug. 28--Chuck E. Cheese's, with its signature singing mouse, is coming to Concord in a flurry of excited anticipation on one side and groaning resistance on the other.
On one hand, it means parents will no longer have to shuttle their kids to the Dublin, Fairfield or Hayward locations if they want to go to the entertainment mecca. And plenty of kids are agog at the thought of Contra Costa's only Chuck E. Cheese's being in Concord. The flashy video games, anamitronic puppet shows and, of course, the pizza, are big draws.
