Aug. 28--If you have driven on I-26 recently, you probably noticed the two new billboards for the Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum.
The signs depict a square-jawed Navy sailor, dressed in white and driving a green Jeep, and growling "Follow ME to the U.S.S. Yorktown" as the massive aircraft carrier plows through the water in the background. It's part Popeye, part G.I. Joe and 100 percent Americana.
The work comes from Rawle Murdy Associates Inc., which won the Patriots Point contract in June 2005. Its approach is a big departure from the grainy black-and-whites that comprised the majority of Patriots Point advertising ...
