Aug. 29--LAY OFF the mouse, man. Some folks in Concord are upset that Chuck E. Cheese's is coming back to town next spring, at the tip of the Park & Shop on Willow Pass Road. Some are irritated that a big sign with a smiling Mr. Cheese will sprout up, somehow blighting the area that once was home to the fabulous Spirit Poles. If there was any solid evidence that Concord once had a sense of humor, it was those glorious Spirit Poles. Anyway, Concord seems to be taking itself way too seriously on this one.
