Article: Atom joining MTV nucleus.(Viacom Inc. acquires Atom Entertainment Inc.)

Viacom has scooped up one of the last remaining independent content Netcos, buying online video and gaming company Atom Entertainment for $200 million.

Deal gives conglom's MTV Nets, which will take control of Atom, a huge presence in the "casual" online games biz, where Atom's Shockwave.com is a major player. In addition, the AtomFilms.com brand will beef up MTV's already significant online video inventory.
