Aug. 30--PORTSMOUTH -- Make room for one more. Portsmouth is to get its second full-service Holiday Inn hotel, on a 2-acre site just off Interstate 264 downtown. Local hotelier Jay Barot announced the project Tuesday, saying he had spent $200,000 to buy land from the city and planned to start construction on a five-story, 120-room Holiday Inn next spring. It would be the third new hotel for downtown Portsmouth in seven years, part of the city's plan to boost tourism and business visits, economic development director Stephen Lynch said.
