Fantasy leagues are not just the time-killing preoccupation of the office sports obsessives anymore. According to the National Law Journal, a lawsuit filed in New Jersey charges that fantasy leagues sponsored by ESPN, CBS and The Sporting News that offer cash and merchandise prizes are illegal gambling.
Colorado attorney Charles Humphrey contends that winning at fantasy sports is a matter of luck, not skill, and thus it's gambling.
