SALE OF EMAP FRANCE COMPLETED
London, UK - 31 August 2006: Emap plc (EMA.L) today announces that, having
received the necessary European regulatory clearances, the sale of its French
Consumer Magazines division, Emap France, to Arnoldo Mondadori Editore S.p.A.
has been completed. Total proceeds of the sale are [euro]551 million (approximately
[pounds sterling]380 million) in cash.
As previously announced, and subject to certain shareholder approvals to be
obtained at an Extraordinary General Meeting of the Company to be held on 25
September 2006, Emap is proposing to return [pounds sterling]285 ...
