Aug. 31--BLACKSBURG -- Development proposals may stay in the review process longer if town council approves changes suggested this week by a special task force.
But officials hope they will also make sometimes contentious rezoning requests, special use permit applications and subdivision proposals more pleasant for everyone.
Currently, proposals run a gantlet of committee meetings and public comment sessions and are voted upon at least three times over three to five months. And both developers and residents have complained in the past two years that it's confusing and time-consuming.
