Location: Northern Kittitas County, along the I-90 corridor; starting from the town of Easton and continuing 25 miles east to Tunnel 47, about 5 miles west of Thorp.
In 1981, the state acquired 213 miles of the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad right-of-way from Easton to the Idaho border. The westernmost 25 miles was transferred to the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission; in 1984, the area was set aside as a year-round, non-motorized recreational trail and state park.
