NEW YORK-Some of the biggest brands in major appliances are beginning to pass price increases down the supply chain to relieve the pain caused by raw material costs.

Whirlpool, GE and Electrolux are taking the lead with wholesale white goods price increases ranging anywhere from 5 percent to 12 percent.

Electrolux was the first of this trio to raise major appliance prices with a 5 percent price increase instituted across its product lineup, effective with July 1 shipments, as earlier reported by HFN.
