Sep. 2--Live Oak High's football team turned quite a few heads Friday night.
The Lions displayed a smash-mouth rushing attack and a stifling defense, ending a seven-year winless drought against visiting Sutter after a 20-0 victory in the season-opening nonleague game for both teams.
Live Oak's Bo Kanada rushed for a game-high 108 yards and scored one touchdown, and Paul Nevarez, the Lions' returning 1,700-yard rusher, rumbled for a workman-like 74 yards on 32 carries with a touchdown.
