Sep. 3--You wouldn't expect an economics class to prove memorable all these years later. I'll never forget the day a diminutive professor explained the law of diminishing returns. His rendition was hardly original. It was full of zest, the delivery precise in its comic timing, the lesson enduringly clear. Think of a pie, your favorite pie. That first piece? Scrumptious.
