Article: Lush lobbies Eurocrats over animal testing.

British handmade cosmetics retailer Lush has launched a campaign against European legislation which the company says would see a return to animal testing for thousands of ingredients used in cosmetics and body care products.

The company claims that around 30,000 existing chemicals, which were developed before current safety requirements were put in place in 1981, will be subjected to a new testing regime under legislation from The Registration, Evaluation and Authorisation of Chemicals (REACH).

Currently the bill is going through its second reading in the European Parliament and Lush is lobbying MEPs to ban the use of animal testing under Reach laws, ...
