Adidas Eyeing China
In the lead-up to the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Adidas plans to significantly increase its retail presence in China. The athletic firm has already been opening stores at a rate of 1.5 per day through a subsidiary, company spokeswoman Anne Putz said. With that infrastructure in place, Adidas plans to ramp up the pace even more. The company aims to double the total number of Adidas-branded stores in China by 2010, taking its store count to 5,000.
