Sep. 6--After discussing it for years, the City Council decided Tuesday to add the Monument Corridor and a couple of other areas to Concord's redevelopment zone. The 3-0 vote -- council members Bill Shinn and Laura Hoffmeister were absent -- means more tax dollars for the areas. It also gives the city the ability to pump money into the projects there and replace deteriorating buildings with what it hopes will be thriving businesses.
