For a change of pace, the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra will open its season in the historic Landmark Theatre instead of using its usual home - the Crouse Hinds Concert Theater.
On Sept. 27, stage, screen and recording star Vanessa Williams will help the SSO open its 46th season.
The venue seats about 2,800 - about 700 more than Crouse Hinds - leaving room for audience members who don't normally attend SSO concerts.
"We're always trying to expand our reach," SSO music
director Daniel Hege said when the season was announced in February.
