HIGASHI OSAKA, Sept 7 Asia Pulse - Iox Co., a materials development start-up headquartered here, has reached the commercial stage with its technology to fabricate metal nanoparticles at a 10th the normal cost and will begin mass-producing cobalt nanoparticles in October.

The firm will then gradually broaden its lineup to include nanoparticles of silver, copper, nickel and iron.

Metal nanoparticles have a variety of promising applications in the automotive and electronics sectors. For example, a condenser made from nanoparticles would be able to hold more charge because they present more surface area than typical microparticles.
