Sep. 6--CENTER TWP. -- The Beaver County Humane Society may be considering a Brodhead Road property as a site for a new shelter. Center Supervisors on Tuesday not only approved new language in its zoning ordinance that allows for animal shelters in township highway commercial, industrial and business park zones, but it changed the zoning -- from residential to highway commercial -- of four parcels along Brodhead.

Frank Vescio, the township's development coordinator, said three of the parcels are included in a 10-acre tract on the east side of Brodhead, between Center Grange and East Shaffer roads, owned by township developer ...
