This bibliography is enormously useful for musicians and music scholars involved with computer applications. The first volume provides a portrait of the growth of the field between the early 1960s and 1985. It covers writings in many languages and many out-of-the-way places. The organization is categorical (from Aesthetics to Trade Shows). The first supplement extends coverage to a number of areas not included in the initial volume, updates the coverage of the original areas for the years 1985--88, and enhances the value of both volumes by providing a topical index. Both volumes contain an author index.
