Millions of Americans did something Tuesday they hadn't done in decades: tuned to the network news.
"CBS Evening News," anyway.
You've got to hand it to Katie Couric's publicists. The former "Today" star has been everywhere since she left NBC last spring. Magazines and newspapers have been giddy since CBS announced that a woman would be anchoring the network news. Alone. Without a male sidekick.
Holy cow. What's next, female astronauts?
Of course, this astonishing move comes at a time when no one's actually watching the network news anymore.
Coincidence? You decide.
