Love does strange things to people. And Josh, Emily and Rhett are a little strange to begin with.
Josh is a onetime rocker who has left his beloved band for the marginally more secure life of a booking agent. Emily is his practical, commitment-minded girlfriend, who wants Josh to propose and face the music of adulthood. We encounter them at dinner in Josh's apartment, teasing each other with baby talk that barely disguises their misgivings about their unreliable relationship. How shaky is it? They've been a couple for years, they live in New York City and they haven't moved in together to split the rent.
