Sep. 7--At least one city councilor is talking about removing a hotel from development options being considered for the Maine State Pier.
The subject came up at Wednesday's joint meeting of the council's community development committee and the Planning Board.
The city-owned pier and its transit shed, formerly occupied by Bath Iron Works and Cianbro Corp., are the focus of a controversial rezoning proposal that would allow private commercial redevelopment of the city-owned property.
Ocean Properties Ltd., a large hotel development company based in Portsmouth, N.H., has expressed interest in redeveloping the pier. ...
